Did You Forget Someone on Small Business Saturday?

According to Wikipedia - "Small Business Saturday is an American shopping holiday held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. First observed on November 27, 2010, it is a counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which feature big box retail and e-commerce stores respectively. By contrast, Small Business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to patronize brick and mortar businesses that are small and local.

These small and local companies stick it out among the larger contenders all year long and finally rightfully are put into the spotlight one day out of the year. Although the concept couldn’t come with better intentions, there are still local companies that tend to be left out of the limelight. These companies, groups or individuals typically fall under the category of local entertainment; however they are in fact still small businesses.
Companies like SoCal Entertainment provide local entertainment such as karaoke, DJ or live trivia on a weekly basis. By coming out to the shows, locals can show support and unwind while participating in local entertainment.  Local bands, artists and even comedians are also members of the somewhat forgotten.  Small Business Saturday is a positive and necessary event within each local community to encourage shoppers to support the mom and pop locations, however let’s not forget that not every small business comes in the same package.  Let’s remember to support both local business and local  entrepreneurs to  include everyone on this particular day!
